WestDayEver has officially been rolled out over the weekend with the release of what appears to be a new single. Kanye West came to Twitter earlier today, after a series of announcements on Friday, to announce his new album God’s Country. Along with the album announcement, he shared a snippet of a new song that he said would come later today.
“Arthur Jafa. Project 02. Wash us in the blood of the next album The Country of God,” he tweeted. “Today. Still #WestDayEver”.
Cinematographer Arthur Jafa previously hinted at the release of a new single and project by Kanye West last month, though Kanye himself only made this announcement shortly before noon EST. “It’s called the Country of God and this will be, like, the first single, I suppose, outside of it. I don’t know if I’m not supposed to announce it or whatever. Maybe it’s just spilling the beans. But yes, it’s from a new album is coming. I don’t know when the album will come out, but I think the single, maybe sometime next week, “he said in May.
Over the weekend, Kanye West was seen in the studio with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. He even hinted at the album’s possible cover art that many Ye fans know is usually the last aspect of the project he works on before its release.
