Billie Eilish is an acquaintance known as Childish Gambino, and in the last segment of “me & dad radio” on Apple Music, she talked about two of her favorite songs from him.
“This is our Finneas episode: bumpy for kids, some inspiring songs that Finneas and I have loved over the years, some songs that we’ve shown ourselves, songs that have inspired us,” the singer of “The Bad Boy “he said as he announced his special guest and his brother Finneas for the fifth episode on Friday, July 31.
The 18-year-old shared a few words about Gambino’s impact on her when “Bonfire” from his 2011 album Camp began playing.
“This is from the album. I think both me and Finneas found Donald Glover. An amazing album. The first song I heard from him, and I think the first song I heard that was like rap, was ‘Heartbeat’ from this album.” , said.
“Since then, everyone knows that Donald Glover is like … one of my favorite creators of all time. He is exactly everything I idolized about a creator. He is every element of what I think is incredible.”
Eilish further described the impact Gambino (real name Donald Glover) had on his career, calling him a “paradigm for you in your global perspective” by wearing many hats in the entertainment industry as an actor, singer, writer, performer, artist and video director.
Eilish later gave Gambino accessories for “the most hardcore bars I’ve ever heard” in “Bonfire”. Finneas pointed to the first line as her favorite handwriting, “Okay, it’s Childish Gambino, friend of the house, leave it as the NASDAQ,” which was met with a lot of laughter from the O’Connell family.
“I love that they last three minutes because you just rap the whole thing, like I do, and then it’s done. It’s like everything, and boom,” she concluded.
