Classic meats are perfect for meatball recipes, so here we are going to see a recipe for beef meatballs, enough to provide four servings. You can also use veal in this recipe, since the meat combinations work very well with the meatballs, but if you just want to keep the normal beef, that’s fine too! This recipe for spicy meatballs is a Spanish specialty, so it is also perfect for tapas!
Spanish Meatballs Recipe in Sauce
1.5 pounds of minced beef
2 oz cured ham
2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
1/2 cup of sherry
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons flour
To start, peel and chop the onion as you would any other meal. Place the minced meat in a bowl and mix the onion, ham, beaten eggs and a tablespoon of breadcrumbs. Season the mixture, since the ham is salted. Now work the dough by hand and place the flour and breadcrumbs in a cup, half of each. Take a small amount of dough with a spoon, place it in the cup and move it around the meatballs until covered with crumbs. Continue this until all the dough is gone.
Heat the oil in a saucepan over high heat and then fry the meatballs until they are fully cooked and browned on the outside. Move them and place them in a saucepan. Chop the remaining onion and sauté with 3 teaspoons of oil. Add a tablespoon of flour, sherry and beef broth. Rectify the salt and boil, then strain and pour over the meatballs. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Sprinkle with parsley and serve with rice or potatoes. Enjoy!
